This season, you can make a significant impact in your community for generations to come.
The Oak Brook Park District Foundation teamed up with Oak Brook Park District, Little Tikes Commercial and Unlimited Play Playgrounds to create a unique, inclusive and universal playground in Oak Brook's Central Park. This playground is designed to break down psychological and emotional barriers, create an atmosphere of awareness, and a space where kids and families can celebrate cultural equality.
"Inclusion means that no matter what your abilities are you can enjoy being a kid. You can enjoy growing and playing with your peers," explained Lara Suleiman, Oak Brook resident and mom of three girls. Lara's middle daughter, Jayda, was diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth and is one of Oak Brook's little all-stars.
You have the opportunity to make a difference in Jayda's life to ensure she never has to sit on the sidelines. Help us create a space that allows children to develop self-confidence by mastering different physical challenges through side-by-side outdoor play.
"Jayda loves playing with her sisters. The playground is an equalizer. It is a space where they can all play together," added Lara.
It takes a team to build a dream, and we need your help. Your support would mean we can create a place for children and families that celebrates the realization that we are all a team and can benefit from each other - but we don't have a lot of time. The project is to be completed by August 2018, and we need your support today.
Can we count on you to donate $25, $50 or $100 today to help make sure families, like Jayda's, have a place to grow, learn and have fun?
We hope we can partner together to make a difference in our community. To donate today, visit www.UniversalPlayground.org.
Warmly and with best wishes for the holidays,
